Hello there fellow readers!
Here I'm on the blog again to show you a new project I accomplished, a card I made mostly using my Pearlescent WatercolorJewel Box.
First, these were all the products I used:
I thought about drawing a set of cacti for my card, so I started trying out the colors in Emerald, Turquoise and Amethyst. I mixed them with quite a bit of water, and let that drying for a while, before applying more colour, dipping softly the tip of the waterbrush, to create texture and natural shapes, as the cactus prickles
I started a new cactus, and built tipical patterns on the body, adding the Emerald and Turquoise colors.
Even used Sapphire and Lapis Lazuli, adding little stains and more thorns on my cacti. Adding bits of water in each stain of color will replace the ink around the water drop. Brushing the colour with a dry tip will stand out the sparkling of each colour.
Used Ruby in this flowerish design, not using much water so the colour shines out.
I Made a few more designs, stroking my waterbrush in small hints of colour, as I painted using dots, stippling all around the water brush.
Then, I tried to draw a plant that would look like an Aloe Vera, but in red; Used a mix of Coral, Pink Diamond, Ruby and Copper to paint it, still using this pointillist technique.
Therefore, I added more dots using Pearl and Black Pearl colours to one of my cacti.
I did cut every shape, and I decided where I was going to place each cactus on my card. Then glued them using my 2 Way Glue pen (and some pieces are attached using foam, to build a second layer, so the card gets an interesting look).
Glued my sentiment, funny one this time, related to the theme we have here :D
So, the results look awesome, and I'm pretty impressed with all this bright brilliance these watercolours gave to my illustrations, it's such a fantastic effect. Sure it transformed my card into a jewel :)
And here I show you my final card, to which I also added some strass jewels, and all the products I needed to paint my cacti garden :D
