Valentine’s card - Hugs and Kisses

Hi, it’s Veerle and today I want to share a step by step in making this Valentine’s card.

I still had some background paper laying here after my playtime with the Woodcraft markers for my previous project and decided one of them was just right for today’s project. If you want to go and make some of the backgrounds just follow the step by step you can find HERE

The colors used on this background were Jubilee Cherry and Burnt ember. As these were second or even third take on the same plastic sheet the colors already mixed in each other.

Since it’s a Valentines card there should be at least a heart so I took out a stamp and stamped it using the Woodcraft marker Jubilee Cherry. Just color directly on top of the stamp. As the paint in this marker dries rather quickly just mist it with a tiny bit of water to keep the paint moist enough to stamp. You can see the paint is to dry as it turns less shiny.
When the heart was stamped I drew in two heart using the black Zig Posterman.

I putted a layer of clear Wink of Stella on top of my heart. Since the Woodcraft marker and the Posterman markers dry waterproof I don’t have to be scared my colors will move around. I then cutted my heart out and putted a clear crackle glaze on top of all of these layers to give my heart some cracks.

While the glaze is given time to dry I colored a piece of fine bandage using the Woodcraft marker Red Brick. I scribbled some of the marker on top of a piece of plastic and mixed it up with some water. Just put the bandage in it to get the color everywhere. I dried it using a heattool.

If you want some spots to be darker just put some of the marker on top of the plastic sheet again and rub your bandage directly into the paint.

Once the heart was completely dry and the glaze has cracked it was time to put everything together. As you can see the fine shimmer of the Wink of Stella shines through the crackle glaze very subtle.

The text was stamped onto black paper using my Zig Embossing marker and white embossingpowder. I stamped my heart as a base using a black ink. To get some of the black on my card and connect everything better with my black cardbase I used my black Gansai Tambi and a waterbrush to splatter some black dots. When those were dry  I also drew a fine line around my card using the Zig Millenium marker 05.
