Remembering Our Fallen Soldiers With Helen Stockwell

Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy Day or Armistice Day) is just around the corner and our design team member Helen Stockwell has been busy creating beautiful weathergrams to honor our fallen soldiers and all that are still fighting for our freedom.

Weathergrams originally came from the Japanese tradition of attaching prayer slips to trees. They hold a short verse expressing a thought, or insight written in calligraphy. They would then be left hanging outdoors, exposing them to the elements and weathering the verse.

Helen has used water colour for her poppy flowers, Kuretake ZIG Millennium Pens for detailing and  ZIG Cocoiro pens for her calligraphy.

Helen has also created other remembrance day pieces using Kuretake ZIG Scroll & Brush Pens and ZIG Millennium Pens.

For the serving and the fallen we remember....
